Artificial Intelligence: What It Is and How It Helps Creators
Simple examples to help you understand how to use artificial intelligence to create texts, images, videos, and tackle other creative tasks.
What is Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a technology that enables computers to perform tasks usually done by humans.
For example, AI can recognize speech, write texts, analyze data, or create images.
I use AI daily: generating ideas, editing and translating texts, creating illustrations for articles, videos, and voiceovers in English.
This article includes examples of real-world usage.
When Was AI Invented?
AI began its development in the 1950s when the first ideas about machines learning from data emerged.
The real AI boom is happening today thanks to accessible online tools and the accumulation of vast amounts of data for training.
How Does Artificial Intelligence Work?
To use AI, you don’t need to fully understand how it works.
Just like you don’t need to know how a phone operates to make calls or take countless photos of your dog (my case).
However, you need to spend some time figuring out the specific tool you’ll be using.
Most of the time, working with AI comes down to sending messages known as prompts.
What Is a Prompt?
A prompt is a text query you send to AI to perform a task.
It tells the system what you want to get, whether it’s text, an image, or a generated voice.
Types of Prompts
Let’s explore a few examples of real prompts.
We’ll use four popular services:
- ChatGPT: for generating ideas and texts.
- Midjourney: for creating images.
- Runway: for creating videos from images.
- ElevenLabs: for generating voiceovers from text.
My prompts are in English, but for ChatGPT, you can use any language you prefer.
Spelling and punctuation don’t matter — sometimes, I write one prompt in multiple languages, and ChatGPT still understands it.
Step 1: Generating Ideas in ChatGPT
I send a prompt requesting a list of video ideas.
ChatGPT sends a list.
I pick an idea I like, send its number, and ChatGPT generates a ready-made script for the video, along with prompts for creating images in Midjourney.
In this example, I used a custom ChatGPT optimized for repetitive tasks.
I explained what I needed and in what format (list of ideas, then text and prompts).
This saves time, as I don’t have to give detailed instructions every time.
I have a separate article on how to use ChatGPT.
Step 2: Creating Images in Midjourney
Next, I switch to Midjourney, copy the generated prompt, refine it if needed, and send it.
Midjourney generates four image options.
I can choose the one I like or ask for revisions.
Step 3: Animating in Runway
After creating the necessary images, I upload them to Runway for animation.
Since I’m still learning Runway, I don’t create prompts myself but let the system determine how to animate the images.
Step 4: Generating Voiceover in ElevenLabs
When the video is ready, I switch to ElevenLabs, copy the text, and generate a voiceover in English.
I pre-created a copy of my voice in ElevenLabs, and now I can voice any text in any language without an accent.
Done!
All these real examples show how I create videos for TikTok, Shorts, or Reels in just 10 minutes.
The final result can be found on the video page.

What Are Models?
Models are versions of algorithms trained to perform specific tasks.
Different models are suitable for different purposes.
In AI tools, you often get to choose a model.
The choice depends on your tasks, priorities (accuracy, speed, cost), and developer recommendations.
The best way to find the right model is to test several options.
Comparisons and recommendations for choosing models can be found in reviews of specific AI tools.
How Is AI Useful for Creators?
Artificial intelligence simplifies routine tasks, enhances work quality, and helps discover unique ideas.
Examples:
- Designers: Create mockups for presentations, ad creatives, and test new visual concepts with Figma or Canva.
- Artists: Generate sketches and select color palettes with tools like Midjourney.

- Make.com: While not exactly an AI tool, it helps automate tasks and integrate other AI services. For example, it can automate content creation and posting on social networks.
There are many specialized AI tools designed for specific technical or business tasks.
In this blog, I focus on tools that help solve creative tasks and create content.
How Much Do AI Tools Cost?
The cost depends on the specific tool.
Many offer free packages sufficient to test and understand whether they’ll be useful for you.
For example, ChatGPT has a free version, while the paid one costs $20/month, Midjourney starts at $10, and ElevenLabs starts at $5.
In some cases, payment is based on the number of generations.
Can You Earn Money With AI?
As you’ve already seen, artificial intelligence helps with various tasks.
Whatever you’re doing now, you can find a way to optimize tasks and work more efficiently.
But don’t expect to simply ask ChatGPT how to earn money and get a magical list of ideas.
AI ideas are often surface-level.
AI has made it easier to answer “how to create,” but the questions “what exactly to create” and “how to sell it” remain key.
Here are some online business ideas where AI is already actively used:
- Book Creation: Using generative tools to write and sell books on Gumroad or Amazon.
- Video Content: Producing videos and voiceovers for YouTube, as I do in my examples.
- Image Sales: Creating and selling images on Shutterstock or Etsy.
These ideas work if AI helps unleash your creativity and uniqueness rather than producing template copies.

Challenges in Working With AI
When you’re just starting, AI might produce surface-level or inappropriate ideas that need refinement.
Don’t stop after a few unsuccessful attempts — adjust your approach and try again.
AI doesn’t know your goals or style, so prompts need to be tailored to the task.
Some tools can consider context and remember your prompts, but working with AI still requires active participation and creativity.
I love the feeling of finding an idea with AI that I’d never come up with myself.
I wish you success in mastering new tools and making them reliable assistants in your creative and professional endeavors.
All the best!
